Do I need a partner?
No partners are required for lessons at Always Ballroom Dance Studio. If you don't have a partner you will dance with your instructor during your private lesson. During group lessons you will dance with other students in the group class.
What do I wear?
Attire for most functions at the studio is dressy casual. The most important items are your shoes. You should wear shoes that don't slip on your feet and leather soles are best. Rubber soled shoes and tennis shoes are not recommended.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No, we have a no-contract policy at Always Ballroom. You simply pay for your lessons when you take them.
How quickly will I learn to dance?
The answer to this depends on a lot of variables. Will you take more than one lesson a week? Will you practice between lessons? Will you attend the Friday night dance parties? How many steps/dances do you want to learn? Do you want to learn just enough to get by, or do you want to dazzle your friends and be comfortable in any dance environment? And, of course, one's own natural ability will determine the length of time it will take to learn to dance. One thing is for sure, you will be dancing on your first lesson at Always Ballroom!
How much does it cost?
Your first three lessons are always at an introductory discounted price. After that Always Ballroom offers a five private lesson package at a discounted rate. During these lessons you will be introduced to many of the most popular dances. If you make the decision to continue with your dance training you can simply pay for each individual lesson or purchase your private lessons in discounted private lesson packages of five and ten. There are never any hidden costs at Always Ballroom.
Is ballroom dancing a good form of exercise?
Dance exercises our bodies to allow for increased circulation. It helps us burn those calories away, while improving our stamina. It is estimated that dance burns from 5 tp 10 calories per minute depending on speed and intensity. The following table shows approximately how many calories you burn while dancing: |
