Catherine Saliba
Catherine
Saliba began teaching ballroom dancing at a large franchised studio at
age 17. She trained extensively at the Dayton Ballet for nine years, and
was in their pre-professional company for four years. After leaving the
Dayton Ballet, Catherine studied middle eastern belly dancing for six
years and still performs professionally . Catherine has studied
flamenco, Hindi, Armenian, American tribal, modern, and jazz dancing.
She also performed in various Broadway productions with Muse Machine for
two years. She enjoys teaching students from beginners to advanced in
American Rhythm, American Smooth, International Latin, and Salsa.
Jayson Michaels
Jayson
Michaels is an international dancer, teacher and choreographer. While
teaching for The Dance Factory in Kenney Louisiana, Jayson had the
opportunity to teach Britney Spears for three years when she was a
little girl. He has recently returned from La Paz, Bolivia where he was
fulfilling a guest artist residency teaching ballroom. hip-hop, lyrical,
ballet and jazz. He has been teaching ballroom for fifteen years and is
certified through the highest level. Jayson enjoys teaching brand new
students....as he explains, "they have no bad habits"!
Shay Rebollo
Shay
was born in New York City and studied dance at The City Ballet for six
years. She then trained at Dance Exposure, a family owned studio in
Edison, New Jersey. Shay moved to Dayton and worked with Rhythm and Shoes
and DCDC for one year. She studied with Lori Bellilove who was trained
in the line of Isadora Duncan in Athens, Greece. She has also performed
vocal and dance pieces in small theater productions and venues.
Steve Schlautman
Steve
teaches American Rhythm, American Smooth and International Standard as
well as social dances like Hustle and Country/Western Two Step. Steve
began dancing socially in Cincinnati in 1993, began competing at UCWDC
dance competitions in the late 90's and started teaching ballroom in
2003. Steve owned his own business dance business in Columbus Ohio from
2004-2007 and has recently moved back to Beavercreek, his hometown.
Steve encourages his students to have fun with their dancing and to
practice as often as possible to develop muscle memory in the dances
they want to learn.
Jihong Deng
Jihong is from Zunyi, Guizhou in China. In 1994, at 22, she became
interested in International Ballroom Dancing and studied with a variety
of instructors from 1994 until 2000. In 2000, she began her Professional
Studies and attended the Beijing International Standard Dance School in
Beijing. In 2003, she passed all her training examinations and received
her Certificate of Qualification from the China International Standard
Dance Association. She also obtained an A-1 Class Qualified Teacher
Certificate to teach Juvenile Latin Dances. In 2006, she received a
certificate as a First-Class Referee (Judge) from the P.R. of China for
the Events of Sports Dances and Latin Dances. In 1996, she opened the
Jihong International Ballroom Dance Art School in her hometown of Zunyi.
In 2003, she opened a second school in a nearby city which was followed
by additional schools which opened in 2004, 2005 and 2009. These schools
are doing well and she is able to continue to operate them with the help
of her sister and another partner who both live in China. Jihong moved
to the U.S. permanently in April, 2009.
